MY STORY

My name is Mandi a short name for Mandakini River. I grew up in Raman’s Garden. My name is Mandi Singh, founder of Mandakini magic which she started in 2020 as an idea and an experiment. Now it is sure that I would like to continue my journey with eco printing, dead stock and using block print clothing.

Mandakini Magic is a slow fashion, environmentally conscious clothing brand in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand India. Mandi uses natural fabrics and dyes for the making of both women's' and men's clothing.

My idea is to make products that takes you one step towards saving nature with inner satisfaction by purchasing even one product and to produce this clothing with minimum environmental harm.

During COVID-19 we spent our isolation in Uttarakhand Himalayas. This is when my actual journey started for eco-dying, where I was surrounded from natural resource like wild berries, leaves, barks, flowers, spring water that directly came from the Himalayas and many more. I spent my times in the kodiya jungle, picking berries and eating they color our hands, clothes so I just went to the google and looked if we could use berries to color the clothes. That is when I found not only berries but a lot of plant material can dye and make pretty abstract designs. So, I started to experiment and I loved the results. That is when I found my passion to create unique one-of-a-kind design. Then Mandakini’s magic was born.
